This year, VHT Attorneys had the pleasure of attending the 11th annual Debt Review Awards, held on the afternoon of October 18, 2024, in the scenic suburb of Durbanville, Cape Town. It was a time of acknowledgment, camaraderie, and celebration for the entire debt review industry, with over 200 guests present in person and many more joining online.
Debt counsellors play a crucial role in helping South Africans regain financial stability, and it’s a privilege for us at VHT Attorneys to support them in this mission.
While we didn’t take home an award this year, VHT Attorneys is incredibly proud of our nomination as a top legal service provider for debt counsellors. This recognition underscores our commitment to quality service, advocating for our clients, and supporting the debt review industry as a whole.

Recognizing Excellence with the Nousheen Pore Award
One of the highlights of the afternoon was the presentation of the Nousheen Pore Award. This special award recognizes individuals who go above and beyond in the industry.
Having received this award last year, VHT Attorneys’ Cornel van Heerden was invited to hand it over to this year’s recipients, two dedicated members of the National Consumer Tribunal. In recognition of last year’s win, VHT Attorneys donated R15,000 to a local food bank, providing meals to 1,500 people—a small way for us to give back and make a difference beyond the legal field.
